Meet your 2025-2026 VolOfDuty editorial board!

Hannah ‘Mac’ McInturff

President

Hi! My name is Hannah! I am a Senior at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville studying Cinema and Creative Writing. My first exposure to publication was as an Editorial Intern with Sundress Publications. My first experience with video games was Game Theory. Since then, I have loved to watch indie game playthroughs and have begun playing games on my own this past year. Apart from Vol of Duty, I love to play Ultimate Frisbee with my club sport BOS and hangout with my rabbit Bumbles.

Mia Inez Hayes

Vice President

Hi! My name is Mia Inez Hayes, I’m a senior double major in English and Theatre at UTK. When I’m not in rehearsal or tucked away somewhere in Hodges Library, I love cozy gaming, rewatching Community, and spending as much time as possible with my friends. Catch me around the Theatre Department and feel free to say hi!

Chiara Ravelli

Web Editor

Hi everyone! My name is Chiara (pronounced with a k-sound). I’m a senior double majoring in English Lit and Italian with a minor in ADPR. I’m a PLA at the Vol Study Center. I have a cat named Lola, and a dog named Layla. Much of my childhood consisted of playing Wii games with my sister and cousins (do not get me started on Just Dance), so I decided to join VOD to combine writing with these really fun and nostalgic experiences. Outside of my studies I love to bake and cook, I’m constantly listening to music, drinking coffee, watching Formula 1, or out with my friends.

Hannah Buchanan

Internet Engagement

Hi there! My name is Hannah Buchanan and I’m a senior English literature student at the
University of Tennessee. I’m one of your staff editors for Vol of Duty. I have always loved games,
both tabletop and console. I started out just watching my older brother play, but quickly realized
the joy of playing them alongside him, building in a communal home-like feel to the world of
gaming. I love playing with friends for a fun night in, and hearing all about what people enjoy, or
what they aren’t quite loving. All is fair in the world of gaming, and I want to hear it all!

Jacqueline ‘Jackie’ Ciabattari

Student Engagement

Hello! My name is Jacqueline Ciabattari, but I go by Jackie. I am a Senior English major at Tennessee with a literature concentration and a minor in Secondary Education. I didn’t necessarily grow up playing a lot of video games, but my childhood consisted of watching playthroughs by famous Youtubers. Their initial responses playing the game real time often conveyed what I imagined my response to the game would be like, and their recommendations allowed me to become well versed in different types of games as well as different types of platforms. I gravitate toward games that either are nostalgic because they are from childhood or they bring a quality that is nostalgic and are from a different time. One of my favorite games in terms of aesthetic nostalgia is Cuphead. Although anyone will tell you (including myself) that Cuphead is one of the most difficult RPGs, its attention to detail to the 1930s stop motion animation and musicality is what makes it stand out as a unique game.

Chase Bennington

Project Manager/Long-term vision director

Hello! Im an English major who likes to yap about games, especially when theres a big title that flops or becomes a huge seller.
